I have you now

It is mine. Mine! Mine!

Dealer said they will be getting the Raven's in a couple of weeks, so I went in today and paid for one. I have new bike joy all over again, just as long as I don't bin this one. As before, knowing how much the dealer invoice is for the bike greatly assists with cutting down the bullshit factor / price negotiations. Time from start to finish = 10 minutes. I'm happy as hell. My advice to anyone buying new from a dealer is go to Cyclebuy.com and pay the 10-20 bucks for a full report on your bike. You'll make your money back 10 fold on the purchase price of the bike. Also check out this article.

Over the last few weeks I've been quizzing friends and fellow riders on their opinions of the R1 - especially Jay whos actually ridden one up and down 211 a few times. The overwhelming feedback is that it rides as badass as it looks. It's a monster powerhouse by all accounts and certainly too much bike for any road. Probably for the track, too.

I've listened to all these accounts, given them due worth, carefully noted their concerns, heard the stories of spinning 3rd out of corners and decided to throw caution to the wind just to own a piece of this madness. I anticipate a pretty steep learning curve as she and I get aquainted, and also anticipate being a slower rider on this bike. Makes sense in a twisted kind of a way. I'm going in with my eyes open, and know it's gonna be a challenge. Good lord though, what a beautiful, angry, shiny black challenge.

Naturally I am fully anticipating it to snow 10 feet the day it's available for me to pick up.
