Send me a demon

Finished my morning workout, did a walky-cool-down thing, looked at the screen and the final distance was 6.66. Erm. Uh.. Run away? Easier said than done actually, I don't have a lot more running left in my pegs this week but with 1 day rest hopefully I can potter outside for a jaunt this weekend if the sunshine holds. A quick goals update:

  • Run 6 miles: Done. 6.66m today has been my furthest run yet. At this time I am not sure I want to set another distance goal as my feet are beginning to wear out and my joints have become increasingly creaky. Not a huge fan of getting older but trying to do it gracefully as possible.


  • 10k time under 60 minutes: Done. My best time currently is 57:39. Runners don't you dare laugh at me or I will smash your puny running bodies into a thousand pieces and then eat your spleen. This is purely a goal for my own personal satisfaction. I have no dreams of doing this for any longer than I absolutely need to. New 10k goal: Under 56 minutes.


  • Weight under 207lbs: Done. Currently 205.5 lbs, but these last 2 pounds have been a complete bitch to lose as the body clock always seems to reset over the weekend. Part of this is planned, as I use the weekend to take 2 full recovery days after beating up my body with 2 workouts every weekday, but it seems like I could do better here by reining in the diet a bit more on the weekends, throw in 1 cardio morning and keep making progress rather than have to do it all again the next set of weekdays. New bodyweight goal: 200 lbs before our OBX trip June 1-7.
